ANANTAPUR: They say there is no substitute for hard work and a woman from a remote village called Nagulaguddam in Singanamala mandal of Anantapur district has set an example by "burning the candle at both ends" to reach her goal of achieving a Ph.D.

Saake Bharti, a daily labourer, who lives in a small shed and strives for food, worked relentlessly despite the challenges she faced to achieve her goal in her studies.

Despite the compulsion of work for her to earn her daily bread, she had a deep interest in studies. Her undying desire to achieve great heights motivated her to pursue her education with unwavering commitment and secure a Ph.D. in Chemistry.

The news of her success spread throughout the village and people who got to know her success flocked to Bharati's house wondering how she managed to continue her studies without the coaching or extra classes. They felt that the sheer hard work and commitment made her accomplish her goal.

In a proud moment, Bharti, accompanied by her husband and daughter, received her Ph.D. degree in Sri Krishna Devaraya University convocation in Anantapur city as part of the graduation ceremony.
