KADAPA: Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy on Tuesday reiterated that he was being implicated in the murder case of YS Vivekananda Reddy despite there being no concrete evidence against him.

The MP, who held a ‘Praja Darbar’ with the YSRCP cadre in Pulivendula, had a chit-chat with media persons and claimed his innocence in the case.

Briefing media on various issues, YS Avinash Reddy accused the CBI of implicating him in the case rather than looking for a logical conclusion to resolve the case. He said that he was facing the troubles, despite being an MP and expressed concern over the situation of common people in such cases.

The two-time Kadapa MP claimed that there were a lot of differences between her cousin and YS Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Sunitha's statements given to the CBI on various occasions. He clarified that his name did not surface in her first statement and raised suspicion about Sunitha's attitude after her second statement where she leveled allegations against him.

Recalling the incidents on the day of YS Vivekananda Reddy's murder, YS Avinash Reddy said that he received the information from Sunitha's husband Narreddy Rajasekhar Reddy through a phone call and clarified that neither his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, nor Shivashankar Reddy nor himself had anything to do with the murder of Vivekananda Reddy.

The Kadapa MP pointed out the statements of the accused especially that of Dastagiri related to a letter found at the scene of the crime. YS Avinash Reddy said that the accused made YS Vivekananda Reddy write a letter diverting the murder onto the driver Prasad and questioned why CBI had not investigated the case from that angle.

He said that he had kept quiet for the last three years as he had not done anything wrong and asserted that he would fight to prove his innocence. Meanwhile, the MP urged the media to know the facts before telecasting the news and said that he would stay in Pulivendula for the next two days. However, when questioned on the possibility of his arrest, Avinash said justice would prevail adding that he was a well-natured person.

CBI questions Sunita, husband

Meanwhile, the CBI on Tuesday questioned Sunitha and her husband Rajasekhara Reddy at its office in Koti in Hyderabad. The CBI recorded their statement.

The CBI officials visited Tummalapalli UCIL factory and enquired with its General Manager about the details of Uday Kumar Reddy, an aide of Avinash Reddy. Uday was questioned for six days by the CBI in custody. Uday was working in UCIL for five years. The CBI sleuths elicited information about the whereabouts of Uday on the day of YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder.
