BHIMAVARAM: Launching a blistering attack against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy described them as two political entities having no credibility among masses.

The Chief Minister on Friday released Rs 584 crore under Jagananna Vidya Deevena. The amount, released towards total fee reimbursement for the quarter July-September 2023 would benefit as many as 8,09, 039 students, he added.

Addressing a huge public gathering, the Chief Minister called upon the people to defeat the two political parties in the next elections. “So far, as many as 27,61,000 students received fee reimbursement of Rs 11,900 crore under Vidya Deevena, Rs. 4,275 crore under Vasathi Deevena and the State Government has incurred an expenditure of Rs 18,576 crore under these two schemes including Rs. 1,777 crore arrears kept pending by the TDP rule,” YS Jagan said.

The Chief Minister said that the Government had so far disbursed Rs 2,45,000 crore under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes, he asked people to think why Chandrababu Naidu failed to implement these schemes during his tenure. Despite working for 14 years as the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu had no achievements to his credit as he spent entire tenure indulging in scams and pursuing the policy of plunder, stash and devour, he said and added that the TDP president had no political values and credibility except telling lies, cheating people and backstabbing.

Taking a jibe at Pawan Kalyan, YS Jagan said, “The actor-turned-politician who was rejected by the local people in the 2019 Assembly elections, is a non-local residing in the neighbouring state with no address in Andhra Pradesh. We have seen some individuals sacrificing everything for the sake of people but here is a ‘Tyagaraju’ who is sacrificing his political life for the sake of Chandrababu.”

On the TDP-Jana Sena joint manifesto, the Chief Minister said the friendly media were now trying to cheat the people with a joint manifesto containing false promises as they have no guts to contest independently in the elections and release their own manifestoes. He asked the people to defeat the two parties in the next elections so that the State could be saved from their evil designs.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government strongly believed that only education could change the course of a country and the people for good. It had brought about revolutionary changes in the educational sector spending a huge Rs 73, 417 crore in the last 55 months. “What way will people benefit if Chandrababu who works for his gang of thieves having no concern for the poor and Pawan Kalyan who sacrifices his political life and pledges people for packages become our leaders”, he questioned.

YS Jagan said in the entire country, the package star is the only party president who wants others to become Chief Minister. “I have two daughters. We have sisters and mothers. What culture do our women inherit if people like Pawan Kalyan who has no respect for the institution of marriage become our leaders?” he said and added that voting for such people could never be justified.

Mocking at the Nara Lokesh’s padayatra and its closure meeting, the Chief Minister said that people in all villages from Kuppam to Ichapuram would only remember the village secretariats, volunteer system, RBKs, pension door delivery, village clinics, family doctors, Mahila Police, Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha and free power supply to farmers ushered during the YSRCP Government.

Quoting the much talked about poem ‘Elika Toka Techhi Yedidi Utikinaa Nalupu Nalupu Gaani Telupu Raadu....’ from the works of the philosopher and poet Vemana, the Chief Minister told people that both Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan would never change their colours and asked people not to believe them. The State Government had distributed 35 lakh house site pattas to the poor and is building 22 lakh houses besides building 17 new medical colleges, four new ports and 10 fishing harbours, he said and added that non-performing assets of the self-help groups has been brought down to .03 percent from 18 per cent in the TDP rule, by implementing several welfare programmes like Sunna Vaddi, YSR Aasara, YSR Cheyutha.

YS Jagan said that farmers and the poor were given full ownership rights over 35 lakh acres after removing them from 22A, he said and that social pensions were hiked by three times and 50 percent of the nominated posts were reserved for women and 75 percent of the benefits of welfare schemes are being received by SC, ST, BC, and minority communities. “What better Naidu could do," he asked, observing that the TDP president does not want the people to keep in mind the good done by the Government.
