AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday posted further hearing of the bail petition filed by J Srinivas Rao (Srinu), accused in the Kodi Kathi case attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to November 15, 2023.

J Srinu filed a bail petition in the High Court and the advocate from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court filed a counter petition. After hearing the arguments from both the parties, the High Court posted further hearing of the bail petition to November 15. J Srinu’s advocates also informed the High Court that the petitioner was languishing in jail for the last four-and-a-half years.

J Srinu allegedly attacked YS Jagan, the then opposition leader, in the VIP lounge of the Visakhapatnam airport in 2018. It may be recalled that the Andhra Pradesh High Court cancelled the bail granted by NIA Court for Srinivasa Rao in July, 2019.

On several occasions, Srinivasa Rao appealed to the NIA Court seeking relief for him in the case and even wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court urging him to release him from jail in July, 2023. So far, there has been no response from the Supreme Court in this regard.
