VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy presented silk robes to the presiding deity Goddess Kanaka Durga in Saraswati alankaram on Moola Nakshatra tithi day, atop Indrakeeladri on Friday.

Temple priests and Vedic scholars accorded a traditional welcome for the Chief Minister from the temple entrance. Temple stancharya V Siva Prasad tied pariveshtitham, a traditional turban, over his head.

Amid recitation of Vedic hymns and welcomed by poorna kumbham, the Chief Minister carried silk robes on a silver plate on his head and walked into the sanctum sanctorum. YS Jagan offered special prayers to the presiding deity in Goddess Saraswati alankaram.

Later, temple priests blessed the Chief Minister by reciting Vedic hymns. Endowments Minister Kottu Satyanarayana along with MLA's Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao and Malladi Vishnu presented the portrait of the Goddess and prasadam to him.

Ministers Kottu Satyanarayana, Taneti Vanita, Jogi Ramesh and RK Roja and other people's representatives accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit to Indrakeeladri.
