VIJAYAWADA: With the next Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh just six months away, the ruling YSR Congress (YSRCP) is leaving no stone unturned to regain power with a clear mandate in 2024.

To gear up the cadres for the ensuing elections and discuss the party's future plans, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will interact with more than 8,000 party leaders at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium on Monday.

Ministers, MLAs, MPs, constituency in-charges, regional coordinators, representatives of local bodies and leaders of party affiliates would attend the crucial meeting. Party sources said that there is a possibility of an in-depth discussion with the party cadres and elected representatives on "Why AP Needs Jagan" across all the Assembly constituencies.

YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy inspected the ongoing works for the meeting at the IGMC Stadium on Sunday. Sajjala said, "The YSRCP is organising the meeting with the idea of bringing the development and welfare programs of the Government to the people as part of the process of preparing the party ranks for the elections."

Sajjala said that the YSRCP had become quite accessible to the public with the 'Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhuthvam' programme. "The legislators have already covered 75 per cent of the households during the visit and they will cover the remaining houses in the coming months," he said.

The YSRCP general secretary also said that the Chief Minister would highlight the development activities taken in the State during the last four-and-half-years to the party cadres and elected representatives and also measures to be taken to counter the campaign of the opposition parties.
