MLA candidates third list: Key changes

Earlier, the party had released a list of 38 names in the first two lists. The third list has taken the total number of candidates announced to 59.

Key changes include Minister Jogi Ramesh who would be contesting from Penamaluru this time as current YSRCP MLA Kolusu Parthasarathy is denied renomination. He will likely move to the TDP.

Srikakulam ZP chairman Peerya Vijaya has been offered the Icchapuram seat. She is the wife of former MLA Peerya Sairaj.

Tekkali is represented by TDP State president K Atchannaidu. The YSRCP has decided to field MLC Duvvada Srinivas against him.

Uppala Ramu, who was with Jana Sena before and had joined the YSRCP recently, has been announced as the candidate for Pedana constituency. His wife is the present ZP chairman of Krishna district.

A new candidate has been finalised for Chintalapudi. Khambham Vijaya Rao,

a former bureaucrat, has been finalised ousting sitting MLA Vunnamatla Eliza.

A few days ago Puthalapattu MLA MS Babu, who had alleged that IPAC and the YSRCP were dependent upon fake survey reports, has been replaced with a fresh face in M Sunil Kumar.

MLC Meraga Murali has been given the opportunity to contest from Gudur.

MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy, who had abruptly left Chief Minister's office after denail of ticket, has been replaced by former TDP MLA Mettu Govinda Reddy in Rayadurgam.

YSR Kadapa district ZP chairman Akepati Amarnath Reddy has now been nominated for Rajampet Assembly.

Sitting Tirupati MP Madala Guru Murthy is now made incharge of Satyavedu Assembly seat, while Minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao’s son Sunil is fielded from Eluru Lok Sabha seat.

Nallagatla Swamidas who had joined the YSR Congress just on Thursday from the TDP was fielded from Tiruvuru, dropping the sitting MLA Rakshana Nidhi who would migrate to the TDP.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy this time apparently chose to go with social engineering. Dominant communities and powerful communities were not considered while choosing the nominees. He reportedly based his decisions on the numerical and social strengths of the castes.
