YSRCP chooses MLAs Kilaru Rosaiah, Cheviredy Bhaskar Reddy for Guntur, Ongole Lok Sabha seats

AMARAVATHI: YSR Congress Party has named Ponnur MLA Kilaru Venkata Rosaiah as incharge of Guntur Lok Sabha seat, while Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy for Ongole Lok Sabha seat.

In fact, Rosaiah's nomination to Guntur Lok Sabha seat is a surprise. The party wanted Narasaraopet MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu to contest from Guntur which he declined and quit the party to join the TDP. As a stop-gap arrangement, the party namde Dr Ummareddy Venkata Ramana, son of party MLC Dr Ummareddy venkateswarlu, as Guntur Lok Sabha incharge. However, the party chose Kilaru Rosaiah, son-in-law of Dr Venkateswarlu, as the party incharge for Guntur Lok Sabha seat.

Now that he has been moved to Guntur Lok Sabha seat, the party chose Ambati Murali as its nominee from Ponnur Assembly seat.

It has moved Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy from Chandragiri Assembly seat to Ongole Lok Sabha seat. As the party denied ticket to sitting MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, he had quit the party and is contemplating fielding his son Magunta Raghava Reddy from Ongole parliament seat, mostly on behalf of the TDP.

Bhaskar Reddy's son, Chevireddy Mohit Reddy as the party nominee from Chandragiri Assembly seat.

The party also named Burra Madhusudan Yadav from Kandukur Assembly seat which is currently represented by Manugunta Maheedhar Reddy, another case of social engineering where a Reddy is dropped in lieu of a BC (yadav). The YSRCP also named Kalatthur Kripa Rani as the candidate from Gangadhara Nellore Assembly seat in Chittoor district.
