HYDERABAD: The Government of India has extended a special invitation to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Andhra Pradesh.

The government will commemorate freedom fighter Alluri Sita Ramaeaju's 125th birthday as part of 'Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' a programme to mark 75 years of India's independence. PM Modi will unveil Alluri's statue in Bihmavaram, Andhra Pradesh.

Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy sent an invitation to Chandrababu asking him to send a representative from the Telugu Desam Party, to be part of the celebrations. It is learnt that Andhra Pradesh state president of the TDP K Atchennaidu will participate in the celebrations at Bhimavaram on behalf of the TDP as per Chandrababu's instructions.

However, the discussion is going on as to why Chandrababu himself was not invited for the event in the letter sent by the Centre. It is left to everybody's imagination.
