Man gets caught between train and platform at Giddalur station

GIDDALUR: In a freak accident, a man sustained injuries after he was stuck between a train and the platform at the Giddalur Railway Station in Prakasam district on Friday. The incident happened when he attempted to get off the moving train. Though he had a miraculous escape from death, he found himself caught between the train and the platform.

The victim was identified as Ravi Kumar who was in excruciating pain having been stuck in the most unlikely place in the bizarre incident.

According to information, Ravi Kumar, who was traveling from Hubli to Guntur, had to get off the train at Bethamcherla. However, he missed the station as he had fallen asleep.

He overheard his co-passengers talking and realised that the train had arrived at the Giddalur station. In an attempt to get off the train, he lost his balance and fell down. Though he cheated death, he had to go through some anxious moments and unbearable pain having been stuck between the train and the platform. It took quite a while and some painstaking efforts from the rescuers to free him from the predicament.

He was rushed to Giddalur government hospital by the RPF team. He was stated to be out of danger.
