Revanth urges withdrawal of cases against Secunderabad protestors

HYDERABAD: The Congress will stand by the people arrested in the case of vandalism at the Secunderabad railway station, against the Agnipath scheme, according to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy.

Revanth Reddy met the people who are currently in remand at Chanchalguda Central Jail on Friday. He assured them that the party would provide legal assistance to them.The Malkajgiri MP provided a toll-free number 9919931993, set up at Gandhi Bhavan, for legal advice.

He urged the Central and State Governments to withdraw the cases against them keeping in view the future of the students. The Congress would launch 'Satyagraha' in all constituencies across the state on June 27 against the Agnipath scheme.

Addressing the media, Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP Government and said the system of recruiting soldiers on a contract basis was flawed. Defence was the most sensitive and important sector of the country's future. He pointed out that conducting experiments in the name of 'Agnipath' was wrong. He said that the Central Government would be responsible for the destruction of the youth's future.
