KUPPAM: Tension prevailed in Kuppam Constituency as the YSRCP and Telugu Desam Party cadres clashed with each other in the wake of TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu's tour to Kuppam on Wednesday.A sub-inspector and several TDP leaders were injured in the clashes. However, the police forces, which plunged into action, brought the situation into control by dispersing the crowd.

Chandrababu Naidu reached Ramakuppam mandal in the Kuppam area on Wednesday afternoon for a three-day tour. On this occasion, while Chandrababu's tour was continuing, the YSRCP cadre erected flags on the way to Chandrababu's arrival at Kollupalle Mandal. The TDP cadre expressed their anger and tried to remove the flags. However, the YSRCP cadre attacked them, which led to a tense atmosphere.

Responding to the incident, Chandrababu expressed his anger and warned the YSRCP cadre. He asked what was the purpose of erecting YSRCP flags in his tour and said that it was only to create trouble.

7Meanwhile, the TDP state president Kinjarapu Atchennaidu condemned the attack on TDP leaders in Chandrababu's visit. He said it was unfortunate that the YSRCP cadre attacked and injured TDP workers in Kollupalli of Ramakuppam mandal during Chandrababu Naidu's visit. Atchennaidu said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy should be held responsible for this incident and demanded action against the YSRCP cadre involved in the attacks. He said the YSRCP leaders had to pay the price after two years and asserted that the TDP government never had resorted to such activities when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was doing padayatra.
