Third part of 'Jagananna Vidya Deevena' funds disbursed in AP

AMARAVATI: The third installment of Jagananna Vidya Deevena, which was started to provide assistance for the education of poor students, was deposited into the accounts of mothers on Thursday at a meeting held in Bapatla. A total of Rs.694 crore was deposited in the accounts of 11.02 lakh mothers who send their children to schools.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said, "Education is a valuable asset we give to children and no matter how much the students' fees is, the Government will bear it."

He said Rs.11,715 crores were provided directly to the beneficiaries under the 'Jagananna Vidya Deevena' and 'Vasathi Deevena' including dues of the previous government. "We have brought many reforms in the education sector and had collaborated with Microsoft for training children," he said, adding that Rs. 53,000 crores were spent in the education sector in three years for various schemes like Amma Vodi, YSR Sampoorna Poshan, Jagananna Gorumudda, Vidya Kanuka, Vidya Deevena, Manabadi Nadu-Nedu, English Medium, BYJUs.

Jagan also said that the former TDP Government had not implemented any such schemes.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Government released the third tranche of Jagananna Vidya Deevena funds for the period of April-June 2022. The government advised the students' mothers to pay the fees to the colleges within a week. Jagan said that if the colleges were not considering the fees as paid even after receiving the money, the next installment would be paid directly to the colleges.
