HYDERABAD: The State Bank of India (SBI) will allow its customers to deposit Rs 2,000 notes which were taken out of circulation by the RBI on 19 May 2023, without submission of a requisition slip or identity proof.

Partially modifying earlier orders given on 19 May 2023, SBI Chief General Manager (Operations) S Muralidharan on Saturday directed all SBI local head offices to not insist on requisition slips as per the format given in earlier directions and allow deposits up to the stipulated limit of Rd 20,000 in one go.

Similarly, no identity proof has to be submitted by the tenderer at the time of exchange. All the SBI branches were also directed to facilitate the exchange of Rs 2,000 notes smoothly and seamlessly without causing any inconvenience to the customers.
