HYDERABAD: Mega Power Star Ram Charan turns 38 today. In a career spanning over 15 years, Charan delivered many blockbusters and a few flops as well. His last film RRR made him a pan-India star and brought him global recognition. Right from the beginning of his career, Charan tried different kinds of roles and established his own fan base, without depending on his father Chiranjeevi's stardom.

Charan's first three films belong to different genres and showcased different shades in him. His first film Chirutha is a proper commercial entertainer, directed by Puri Jagannath. Charan proved his impeccable dancing skills and action skills in this movie. Be it the introduction fight or dances in songs like Yamoho Yama and Chamka Chamka, Charan aced in all departments. Chirutha also happened to be the highest-grosser among debut heroes' films until Uppena came in 2020.

His second film was Magadheera. Directed by SS Rajamouli, this was a period-action drama based on the reincarnation concept. Magadheera was the most expensive Telugu film at that time. After its release, it also became an industry hit. Right in his second film, Charan played the role of a warrior with ease and emerged as a star in the film industry.

Charan's third film Orange was a romantic drama. Though it tanked at the box office, the film gained a cult fanbase over the years. Recently, it generated thumping revenues in theatres after its re-release. Orange's musical album is still considered one of the best works in modern Telugu cinema.

All these three films explored different shades of Charan's acting side. Not many heroes were this experimental during the initial stages of their careers.
