HYDERABAD: Pan-India biggie Adipurush suffered a massive drop in collections on Monday, after having a sensational weekend at the box office. Though the film garnered negative talk right from the first day, the advance bookings helped the movie get good collections during the weekend.

Finally, negative word of mouth affected the film on its first Monday. As per reports, Adipurush's collections dropped by 75% on Monday in the Hindi circuit. Popular Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "THE NEGATIVE WORD OF MOUTH HAS COME INTO PLAY… After a strong opening weekend, #Adipurush COLLAPSES on Monday. #Hindi version. #India biz."

Adipurush's Hindi version earned Rs. 37.25 crore nett on Friday, Rs. 38 crore each on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, the movie managed to collect only Rs. 9 crores at the box office. If the same figures continue over the course of this week, the film may end up as a disaster at the box office, opined the sources.

Adipurush was heavily criticized for distorting Valmiki's Ramayana and also for a few cringe dialogues. Directed by Om Raut, this movie featured Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.
