HYDERABAD: Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen came up with Dhamki recently. This is his second directorial project after Falaknuma Das. Though there was much hype around this film, it didn't become a big hit as expected.
Due to Vishwak Sen's excessive promotions, Jr NTR's presence at the pre-release event, and two chart-bursting songs, Dhamki created a big buzz among the audience. The Ugadi holiday aspect also helped the movie in getting big openings. It eventually became Vishwak's biggest opening-day grosser.
The movie got a mixed response from the audience. The collections dropped day by day. Due to low pre-release business, the film crossed the break-even mark and became a profitable venture. But it didn't become the hit like Vishwak promoted it to be.
He also said that he would dub Dhamki in various other languages if it succeeds in Telugu. But it looks like the plan is dropped now. So, he might have also realized that Dhamki is a financially profitable venture but not a path-breaking hit for him, opined the industry folks.
