HYDERABAD: Superstar Rajinikanth will work with director Lokesh Kanagaraj soon, and there is an interesting development on the same. Shruti Haasan is rumored to share the screen with Superstar Rajinikanth in an upcoming film. Currently, Rajinikanth is busy filming 'Vettaiyaan' directed by Gnanavel. Following this project, he's set to dive into his 171st film, helmed by Lokesh Kanakaraj and produced by Sun Pictures.

Speculation is rife that Shruti Haasan may portray Rajinikanth's on-screen daughter in this film, marking a significant milestone as it's been 25 years since the two iconic actors, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, last appeared together.

Shruti herself makes a comeback after a hiatus, her recent appearance being in a song album titled 'Inmale,' produced by her father and directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj.

While the film's rumored title, 'Kalugu,' awaits official confirmation, fans can expect the unveiling of the title and teaser on the 22nd of this month. Filming is slated to commence in June. The film unit is hoping to finish the film as soon as possible, and it may head for a release towards the beginning of next year.
