HYDERABAD: Senior actor Chandramohan, who left an indelible mark in the hearts of movie lovers with his natural acting, unexpectedly entered the film industry and experienced numerous ups and downs in his career. His recent passing has saddened the Telugu film industry, prompting fans and celebrities to reminisce about his contributions.

In various past interviews, Chandramohan shared insights into his life and career.

Born in Krishna district, Pamidimukkala, to Veerabhadra Shastri and Shambhavi, Chandramohan mentioned that his mother's hearing impairment inspired him to enhance his acting skills.

Initially, he had no aspirations to become an actor, but fate led him to the film industry. Director B.N. Reddy, with the help of actor Mudigonda Lingamoorthy, invited Chandramohan to Madras for a screen test, and he was selected for a role in the film.

Chandramohan credited his elder brother K. Vishwanath's film "Siri Siri Muvva" for giving him a significant breakthrough in his career. The film was instrumental in shaping his career, and he expressed that he was the first choice to play the lead role in the film. However, Kamal Haasan later stepped into the project.

"They told me that there will be a squirrel with me throughout the film. I got one from a forest and started getting trained. But, later they did the film with Kamal Haasan. However, I suggested some mannerisms to Kamal's character which they included in the movie," said Chandramohan.

Reflecting on the changes in the film industry, Chandramohan noted the transformation from a collaborative and supportive atmosphere to a more individualistic and competitive environment. He shared how actors used to sit together, exchange advice, and have lunch, but such camaraderie diminished over time.

Chandramohan highlighted the financial challenges actors could face if not careful. Despite encountering bounced checks from producers, he expressed satisfaction in receiving more appreciation from the audience.
