HYDERABAD: The makers of Janhvi Kapoor's much-anticipated Telugu debut film, "Devara," have unveiled her first look in the film. The image was captured on the set of the movie in Goa, where Janhvi embarks on her role in this eagerly awaited pan-Indian action drama. In "Devara," Janhvi will be portraying a character named Thangam.

In her first look, she appears in a traditional half-saree, embodying the grace and style of a village belle. Director Koratala Siva has emphasized the significance of Janhvi's role in the film's narrative.

There is speculation that her character's name, Thangam, might be an homage to her mother Sridevi's character in her childhood film, "En Annan."

In recent times, actresses like Samantha in "Rangasthalam" and Rashmika in "Pushpa" have left a lasting impact with their portrayals of innocent rural characters, particularly Rashmika's role, which garnered popularity among audiences in the North. The audience will be eager to see if she can make a mark that surpasses the performances of actresses like Samantha and Rashmika in "Devara."

Now, Janhvi Kapoor steps into the shoes of a rural girl and will be sharing the screen with NTR. This marks her first significant role as a singing and dancing heroine in a film. It will be fascinating to see how she matches steps with a dancer of NTR's caliber in the film's songs.
