Family Star Improves On Ugadi

HYDERABAD: Actor Vijay Deverakonda recently came up with his new film Family Star. Though it was released amidst decent expectations, the movie garnered negative talk right from the first show. As a result, the collections were very low during the first weekend.

The makers planned to take advantage of the big holiday week which comprises Ugadi and Ramzan. But the dull first weekend collections have disappointed the makers.

However, they got a respite yesterday as the movie banked well on the Ugadi holiday. If the movie manages to do well tomorrow (Ramzan) as well, the makers can hope for a good weekend on the cards. That will also further increase hopes on the second week's performance.

However, the film has a long way to go to enter the profit zone. Family Star was directed by Parasuram Petla, who earlier made Geetha Govindham with Vijay Deverakonda. This family drama featured Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.

Dil Raju has bankrolled the project. Gopi Sundar composed the music for it.
