Kalki release date - No clarity yet but fans unhappy

HYDERABAD: Kalki 2898 AD is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films in Telugu cinema, especially with Rebel Star Prabhas in the lead role and Nag Ashwin directing. Originally slated for release on May 9, 2024, the film's fate is now uncertain due to the overlapping schedule with the Andhra Pradesh elections.
While there were speculations about a postponement, the makers have not officially confirmed a new release date yet. However, discussions have reportedly taken place with distributors, and May 30th has emerged as a potential alternative release date.
This would allow the film to avoid clashing with election fervor while still capitalising on the summer holiday season. Despite considerations for a later release date, some distributors are not enthusiastic about the May 9th slot.
Nevertheless, the makers are determined to release the film in May to avoid competition from other big releases later in the year, as well as Hindi films.
