HYDERABAD: Well-known voice-over artist Srinivasa Murthy who is a frequent collaborator with Suriya, Ajith, Vikram, Mohanlal, and other South actors passed away this morning due to a heart attack. Srinivasa Murthy is a highly talented and accomplished dubbing artist whose voice adds depth and strength to the characters portrayed by these actors, making them even more compelling and believable.

Despite being a crucial part of the film industry, dubbing artists often go unrecognized as they work behind the scenes. However, Srinivasa Murthy's voice has become so closely associated with many of the actors and to hear another actor's voice when watching one of his films will become difficult for the viewers.

Srinivasa Murthy lent his voice to over two thousand films in various languages. He has dubbed for a wide range of characters, including heroes, villains, character actors, and comedians. His first Tamil-Telugu dubbed movie was Kizhakku Veluthaachi.

Some of the heroes he has dubbed for include Rajasekhar, Suman, Arjun Sarja, Vineeth, Vadde Naveen, Upendra, Prabhu Deva, and Abbas. His father, A.V.N. Murthy, is also a veteran dubbing artist who began his career dubbing for Sanjay Bhargav in the Telugu movie Neeku 16 Naaku 18.

Srinivas won a Nandi Award for Best Male Dubbing Artist for his work on the Rajasekhar starrer Sivayya in 1998. He is well-known for his work in Telugu, and Tamil movies as well as Hollywood Tamil and Telugu dubbed movies.

Some of the notable actors he has lent his voice to include Ajith Kumar, Mohanlal, Vikram, Surya, Daniel Craig, Robert Downey Jr., Shere Khan, Bagheera, Vin Diesel, and many more.
