Oscar Nominations 2023: Natu Natu in RRR enters race for best original song

Hollywood actors Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams announced the nominations for the 95th Academy Awards' 23 categories in Los Angeles

HYDERABAD: The iconic song "Naatu Naatu" from SS Rajamouli's historical action thriller "RRR" received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song on Tuesday.

This was the third big international honour for "Naatu Naatu," composed by MM Keeravaani and written by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, following Keeravani's Golden Globe and Critics' Choice awards earlier this month. The movie also won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The film was nominated in the category alongside 'Applause' from "Tell It Like a Woman", 'Hold My Hand' from "Top Gun: Maverick", 'Lift Me Up' from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and 'This Is a Life' from "Everything Everywhere All at Once".

The official Twitter account for the film made the announcement on Tuesday "We made history. We are thrilled to announce that #NaatuNaatu has been nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards ".
