HYDERABAD: The theatrical run of Prabhas's Adipurush has received mixed reactions. Although it started strongly, it faced a significant drop in box office performance. Additionally, the film has faced criticism for allegedly misrepresenting the epic Ramayan, leading to protests by various Hindu groups.

In light of the controversy, the writer of Adipurush, Manoj Muntashir, has publicly apologized. In a tweet, he expressed his regret, acknowledging that the film hurt people's emotions. He extended his unconditional apologies and invoked the blessings of Lord Bajrang Bali to keep everyone united and provide strength to serve the sacred Sanatan and the nation.

However, Muntashir's apology has sparked further backlash and trolling. Some netizens question his sincerity and accuse him of seeking attention. They point out that Muntashir had previously claimed that Adipurush was only inspired by the Ramayan character and not a film based on Ramayan. They speculate that his apology may be a ploy to attract attention before the film's potential OTT release.

Netizens also suggest that he may be using these statements to secure another film opportunity.

Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush featured Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh and others.
