HYDERABAD: Cricket legend and icon for the present generation, Virat Kohli, made history in the World Cup semifinal match between India and New Zealand by becoming the first batsman in cricket history to score fifty ODI centuries.

This achievement surpassed the previous record of 49 centuries held by Sachin Tendulkar. A lot of celebrities have come forward to share their happiness on social media.

Renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli took to social media, stating, "Records are meant to be broken, but no one in their wildest dreams dreamt of breaking Sachin’s record when he announced his retirement, and the KING emerged; Kohli."

Similarly, popular actor NTR shared his enthusiasm on social media, saying, "49 ODI centuries. An unbreakable record. Broken by an Indian. In India. In a World Cup Semifinal. Doesn’t get better than this. Congratulations Kohli. You deserve 50 standing ovations and more."
