Rana to star in Maaanaadu Telugu remake

Simbu-starrer Maanaadu was a blockbuster in Tamil. It was directed by Venkat Prabhu and featured Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead. This time-loop thriller entertained Tamil audiences a lot and ended up as a highly successful venture.

It was released in Telugu as well, on the OTT platform Sony LIV. Meanwhile, Suresh Productions bought the Telugu remake rights of the movie. Initially, there was news that Naga Chaitanya and Abhiram Daggubati are in consideration for this remake.

However, it is now confirmed that Rana Daggubati will be the lead in the film. Naga Chaitanya confirmed the news in his recent interview. He stated that Rana will be doing Maanaadu's Telugu remake and added that the project is in the pre-production stage.

Meanwhile, it is still unknown whether Venkat Prabhu will helm the Telugu version or not. More details about it are expected to be announced soon. Rana was last seen in Virata Parvam. It was a critically acclaimed venture which featured Sai Pallavi as the female lead. On the flip side, Naga Chaitanya is currently awaiting the release of his latest film Thank You, which will hit the screens this Friday.
