HYDERABAD: After winning the Oscar for Naatu Naatu, music director Keeravani mentioned the vocal duo Carpenters in his acceptance speech. He said that he grew up listening to the Carpenters and he is now here with The Oscars. He later went on to sing a rehash version of Carpenters' popular song 'Top of the World'.

This rendition went viral on social media. Hollywood audience who were present at the ceremony also enjoyed Keeravani's version of the Top of the World. Meanwhile, Richard Carpenter, one of the singers from the duo, released a special video of him singing 'Top of the World' on Instagram and dedicated it to Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose.

Along with the video, Richard wrote, "To @mmkeeravaani and @chandraboselyricist. Heartfelt congratulations on your win for Best Original Song. Here is a little something from our family to you and yours."

Keeravani literally had tears in his eyes when his idol sang this song for him. Revealing the same, RRR's director SS Rajamouli commented, "Sir, throughout this Oscar campaign my brother maintained a calm composure. Whether it is before winning or after he didn't let his emotions out. But, the moment he saw this, he couldn't control the tears rolling down his cheeks... the most memorable moment for our family...Thank you so much..."

On the other side, Keeravani commented, "This is something I didn’t expect at all. Tears rolling out of joy. Most wonderful gift from the Universe." This is indeed the most special moment for Keeravani in his life.
