HYDERABAD: Rishab Shetty needs no introduction to movie lovers. He recently released his much-awaited film Kantara and tasted a big hit. Now, he has ended rumors that he will be joining politics. In a social media post, the Kannada actor clarified that he has no intention of entering politics and urged his fans to support his cinema instead.
Reacting to a tweet by a journalist claiming he would join politics, Rishab Shetty stated that the news was false and requested the journalist clarify that it was an April Fool's Day prank.
When one of his fans urged him to join politics and offered support, Rishab Shetty politely declined the offer and requested his fans to support his films. He stated that their support for his cinema was more than enough.
The speculations about Rishab Shetty's entry into politics began after the release of his film Kantara, in which he had appealed to the moviegoers not to mock the screams of God shown in the movie and had also visited temples. However, the actor-director has categorically denied any plans of entering politics.
