HYDERABAD: War is one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema. Directed by Siddharth Anand, this action drama featured Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles. It is a part of the YRF Spy Universe. Now, Yash Raj Films is aiming to make War's sequel much bigger.
If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, Jr NTR will play the antagonist in War 2. He will take on Hrithik Roshan, who plays a RAW agent in the movie. Ayan Mukherjee of Brahmastra fame will direct the project. It is expected to begin by the end of this year.
If the news is true, War 2 makes NTR's debut in Hindi cinema. It will be his first straight Hindi film. Tarak's arrival also makes it a big project. Having a North Indian Superstar and a South Indian Superstar will make War 2 the biggest action film in Indian cinema.
On the other hand, interesting speculation around the project is going viral on social media now. NTR will reportedly be taking 30 Cr as remuneration for the Hindi film. Tarak's market value went up, post the success of RRR and if War 2 becomes a hit in Hindi, there will be no looking back for the actor.
More details about the project are expected to be announced soon. War 2 will be the sixth film in YRF's Spy Universe, after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan and Tiger 3.
