HYDERABAD: Rajinikanth's latest film in a guest role, "Laal Salaam," had garnered high expectations among fans, especially after the success of his previous hit, "Jailer." Starring young heroes Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant and directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the film was anticipated to make waves upon its release.

However, to everyone's surprise, "Laal Salaam" faced a major setback, particularly in the Telugu-speaking regions. Despite Rajinikanth's immense popularity, the film failed to generate much interest among Telugu audiences.

In Kollywood, where Rajinikanth's movies typically break box office records, "Laal Salaam" struggled to draw audiences. The situation was particularly disappointing for fans in Hyderabad, where multiplexes witnessed cancellations of morning shows, leaving many eager viewers disappointed.

The unexpected cancellation of morning shows in several places across the two Telugu states left audiences disheartened. While some had already booked tickets, theater owners began issuing refunds to those affected by the cancellations. This turn of events came as a surprise, especially for a star-studded film featuring Rajinikanth.

Some industry analysts attributed the lack of promotions in the Telugu market as one of the reasons for the film's lukewarm reception. Additionally, the simultaneous release of other highly anticipated Telugu films, such as Ravi Teja's "Eagle" and Mammootty's "Yatra 2," may have contributed to the subdued response to "Laal Salaam."
