HYDERABAD: Manobala, a popular director and actor, had been unwell for a few months due to age-related issues. He passed away at his residence in Chennai, with his body being laid at his residence on LV Prasad Road, Saligramam in Chennai.

The Tamil film industry was saddened by the passing of Manobala, a veteran actor and director known for his impeccable comedic timing and self-deprecating humor. He had been receiving treatment for liver-related problems at his residence for the past two weeks before his demise.

Manobala's funeral and cremation details will be released in the coming hours. He acted in over 900 films throughout his illustrious 35-year career, leaving a lasting impact on the industry. He is survived by his wife, Usha, and son, Harish.

Manobala's career began in 1979 with his acting debut in Bharathiraja's Puthiya Vaarpugal. He went on to act in several hundred films in supporting roles and also directed nearly 25 films. In addition to appearing in serials, he also directed a few television serials and established himself as a producer.
