HYDERABAD : Tamil composer and actor Vijay Antony's teenage daughter Meera died by suicide in the early hours of September 19th. The actor's family completed the final rites, and Vijay issued his first statement following the tragic death.
Vijay Antony took to X to share his first public statement since the tragedy. His emotional message garnered an outpouring of condolences from his fans, netizens and the film fraternity.
Vijay Anthony shared a press note in Tamil, and it is loosely translated below:
"My dear people, my daughter Meera was a loving and courageous girl. She now resides in a serene place without room for caste, creed, wealth, envy, pain, poverty, or hostility. She continues to communicate with me. I have lost a part of myself with her departure. I will now dedicate my time to doing good deeds in her memory, and she will inspire them."
The sudden and tragic loss of Meera Vijay Antony deeply shocked the public and the Tamil film industry. She was the elder daughter of Vijay Antony and Fatima. A police case was filed following her untimely death at her residence in Alwarpet, Chennai, and a postmortem was conducted in accordance with legal procedures.
