Will Nikhil's Spy End Tollywood's hit drought?

HYDERABAD: It has been over two months since the Telugu film industry witnessed a successful film. Sai Dharam Tej's Virupaksha was the last hit at the Tollywood box office. Adipurush, released amidst huge expectations, ended up a big disappointment.

Now, all eyes are on Nikhil's Spy, which is releasing this Thursday. Directed by Garry BH, Spy is an action thriller that revolves around the death mystery of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The teaser and trailer garnered a terrific response from the audience. Karthikeya 2's success will also help this film in getting big openings.

Taking advantage of the public holiday on June 29th due to Bakri Eid, "Spy" is strategically releasing on Thursday, allowing for an extended weekend. The advance bookings have already shown promising numbers, indicating a strong opening at the box office. If word of mouth also turns out to be positive, the film has the potential to achieve remarkable success.

According to industry insiders, "Spy" is the sole recent film to generate table profits, making it an exceptional case. To break even, the film needs to collect a share of Rs. 5 crores in Nizam and Rs. 6 crores in Andhra. It remains to be seen if Nikhil can achieve yet another triumph with this movie.
