100 grams gold, cash stolen from a locked house in Pendurthi

VISAKHAPATNAM: A massive theft was reported under Pendurthi police station limits in Visakhapatnam, where 100 grams of gold and cash worth Rs 50,000 were stolen from a house in Vegi Vari Street.

Lanka Aruna, residing in Vegi Vari Street, had gone to Araku for a birthday party of a girl. Unidentified assailants broke into the house and stole gold jewellery and cash.

The victim then filed a complaint with the Pendurthi police, who registered a case and are searching for the accused. The police have deployed a clues team at Lanka Aruna's house as part of the investigation. The police suspect that the thieves spent about two hours in the house.
