HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has imposed a fine of Rs. 3,000 on 29 officials including Municipal Commissioners, Site and Technical Verification Officers for showing laxity in issuing house-building permission in a stipulated time frame as per the TSbPASS act.

Special Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department Arvind Kumar ordered the respective District Collectors to recover the said fine from their salaries.

The Telangana government brought the TS-bPASS Act 2020 to ease the process for public in getting building permissions online and in a time-bound manner. The government is reviewing the performance of different officials regularly and imposed penalties on erring officials since 2020.

The government imposed a fine of Rs.3,000 on 29 officials including four Municipal Commissioners and (25) scrutiny officers who have delayed the process of TS-bPASS applications within the time frame.

The Collectors of Hanamkonda, Medchal, Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Suryapet, Warangal, and Yadadri districts were ordered to initiate the process of recovering the fine from concerned officials and advised to review the approval of pending applications.
