HYDERABAD: A nine-year-old girl Mounica fell in a manhole and was washed away due to heavy rain in Secunderabad.

Mounica, a fourth grade student, went out to fetch a milk sachet, and suddenly fell into the open manhole at Kalasiguda.

Later her body was recovered by the Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams at Parklane.


Mayor of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Gadwal Vijayalakshmi rushed to Kaladiguda to meet the bereaved family of the girl.

Meanwhile, several colonies were inundated partially under water. Several two-wheelers were washed away in a nala at Padma Colony near Nallakunta nala works.

Cars parked on the road at Suryanagar in Bagh Lingampally were washed away in gushing waters flowing on the roads. Water entered into shops in the area and stocks were completely inundated.
