HYDERABAD: Commissioner of Police of Rachakonda Dr Tarun Joshi unwound himself rendering a song at the International Women’s Day celebrations.

Clearing his throat, Tarun Joshi demonstrated the other side of the typical of a cop that he is at a Women's Day event in Taj Krishna on Friday evening. Enthused by the women crowd, Dr Joshi rendered a not-so-popular number from a not-so-familiar 1980 movie, “Aap toh aise na the” – meaning “you were not like this”. Barring Raj Babbar, the other actors are not so popular.

The audience were really amused with the Commissioner of Police singing amidst them eschewing his hesitation, because even he was not like this (Aap toh aise na the) before.

Clad in a pleasant sky-blue blazer, the otherwise baton-toting police officer Dr Joshi began singing “Tu iss tarah se meri zindagi mein shaamil hai…

In fact, this song has three versions in the movie. While the most popular version is a fast beat rendered by the most famous Mohammed Rafi, the other two were slow versions – one in the male version sung by Manhar Udhas and the one of the female version rendered by Hemalata.

In fact, all songs in the movie were sung by great playback singers Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle.
