VISAKHAPATNAM: The swift and timely response of a loco pilot of a goods train helped save the life of four people after their car stopped on a railway track due to technical issues in Sheela Nagar in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

According to police, a car carrying four people from Gajuwaka entered Sheela Nagar on Wednesday. While crossing a railway track near Maruthi Centre, all of a sudden the car stopped on the railway track due to technical issues. At that moment, a loco pilot noticed a car stopped on the railway track. The alert loco pilot reduced the speed of the goods train to prevent an accident. However, the goods train had rammed into some portion of the car.

Fortunately, four people who were traveling in the car somehow managed to leave the vehicle after the accident and sustained minor injuries. Upon obtaining the information, a team of police personnel from Gajuwaka station rushed to the spot. “The swift and timely response of the loco pilot averted a major mishap. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway into the incident,” the police said.
