HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has released a notification for the election of various positions including president, vice president, secretary, assistant secretary, treasurer, and executive committee of the association.

According to the schedule, the nominations for the elections will be accepted from October 11 to 13 followed by the scrutinisation of nominations on October 14 and withdrawal of nominations by October 16.

The polling is scheduled to take place on October 20, and the results will be declared on the same day in the evening. The notification was issued by HCA Election Officer VS Sampath. The HCA in its communique released the voter list and directed all the stakeholders regarding the conduct of elections to attend the meeting on October 4 at 11.30 am.

It may be recalled that HCA had landed in legal disputes, particularly a tussle between former President Azharuddin and other members of the executive committee. The Supreme Court, which investigated the matter, recently expressed its opinion that conducting elections would be the appropriate way to resolve the issue and the notification was issued in light of this context.

The Supreme Court last year established a committee headed by Justice Kakru to oversee the HCA. However, the Supreme Court subsequently dissolved the committee and entrusted the responsibility of day-to-day operations and election supervision of the HCA to former judge Justice Lavu Nageswara Rao.
