HYDERABAD: Advocates association of Ranga Reddy district courts took out a rally on Wednesday demanding action against assailants who attacked an advocate Narapaka Surender.

He was attacked a couple of days ago, while he was returning to Ranga Reddy district after arguing a case in Nalgonda. The advocates association alleged that though a police complaint was lodged, no action had been initiated.

President of the association Kondal Reddy demanded that a separate piece of legislation for advocates should be brought about. He warned that the advocates would storm the state secretariat, if no action was taken within 20 days. He also demanded scrapping of Section 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code, as this was impeding the scope for taking up cases by advocates.
