HYDERABAD: The Bhuvanagiri police intercepted a significant quantity of explosives being transported unlawfully from Hyderabad. The seized consignment had 6,925 kilograms of explosives.

According to Bhuvanagiri zone DCP Rajesh Chandra, Bayyapu Hanumanth Reddy, the proprietor of Shree Sai Hanumanthu Enterprise in Hyderabad, was responsible for transporting the explosives. "Hanumanth and his driver Narsimhulu were apprehended while transporting a large quantity of explosives from Hyderabad to Warangal. They were intercepted during a routine vehicle inspection at Gudur Toll Plaza in Bibinagar mandal," said DCP Rajesh Chandra.

The DCP confirmed that 6,925 kilograms of explosives were confiscated from the suspects. Additionally, the driver of the explosive-laden vehicle, Narsimhulu, along with the accused individuals Devender Reddy, Dattu Rao, and Lingala Parushuramulu, were arrested. However, Bayyapu Hanumanthu Reddy remains at large.

Cases have been filed against the suspects, who have been remanded into custody, as per the DCP. The DCP also disclosed that entrepreneurs in Nalgonda and Jangaon districts were regularly involved in the illegal transportation of explosives, prompting special police teams to conduct thorough inspections.
