Car driver opens door hastily, 2-yr-old girl dies in LB Nagar

HYDERABAD: An act of recklessness on the part of a car driver took the toll of a two-year-old girl in Hyderabad. The toddler, travelling with her parents on a bike, was killed after being hit by a car door that was recklessly opened by its driver on a busy road in LB Nagar. The girl fell down from the two-wheeler and died.

The incident, which happened on Thursday, came to light on Friday after the CCTV footage of the freak accident was widely shared on social media.

The incident, as per report, occurred when the car driver, who stopped the vehicle on the road, and recklessly opened the car door without paying attention to vehicles passing from behind.

Syed and Sasirekha were riding their bike with their daughter Dhanalakshmi when the car door hit them from behind. As the horrifying CCTV footage showed, the girl fell down from the bike under the impact and died on the spot.

The person who was in the driver’s seat of the car fled the scene soon after the incident. The LB Nagar police are investigating the case.
