Class of 1973 Golden Jubilee Reunion at OUCE: Grand celebration of memories, achievements

HYDERABAD: The 1973 Class of Osmania University College of Engineering (OUCE) celebrated their 50-year Golden Jubilee Reunion on September 9, 2023, marking a historic event for the college since the 1973 batch was the first batch to hold a golden jubilee reunion at the college.

More than 80 alumni from the 1973 batch returned to college from various walks of life, while other alumni from around the world joined the reunion virtually.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. D Ravinder released a souvenir commemorating a memorable event, featuring all 1973 alumni bios and their college memories from their college days to the present.

The 1973 batch of alumni, including P.A. Sastry, Buddha Prakash, S.Raghava Chary, Sudhir Babu, A V Ramana Rao, Mahatma Rao Gundu, K.Rajagopalan, P.Sarveswara Rao, R. Somanatham, and D. Venugopal, played a crucial role in organizing the reunion.

Tammareddy Bharadwaj, a Telugu Cinema director, attended an event for the 1973 Batch alumni. They also extended a special invitation to their Professors who had imparted knowledge and shaped the educational journey of the alumni during their time at OUCE, and facilitated them.

The alumni had the opportunity to embark on department tours, providing them with an exclusive opportunity to witness the latest developments in their respective disciplines and fostering a sense of pride in their alma mater's continued growth and progress.

The alumni gathered in the assembly hall to reconnect, reminisce, and reflect on their time at OUCE, exchanging stories, laughter, and heartfelt conversations, creating a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia.

Prof. D. Ravinder, Vice Chancellor of Osmania University, Prof. P. Laxminarayana, Registrar of Osmania University, Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, Principal of OUCE, and Dr. D. Vijay Kumar, President of Alumni Association, University College of Engineering, Osmania University were among those who attended the reunion.
