Come up with innovative, informative, entertaining education modules, KTR tells T-SAT

HYDERABAD: Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) has suggested to T-SAT management come up with more innovative, informative and yet entertaining education modules based on the learning methodologies that were changing fast.

Participating in the sixth anniversary celebrations of T-SAT Network, held at its office in Dr BR Ambedkar Open University campus in Hyderabad on Thursday, KTR said, “It is not just learning methodologies of students, even new teaching methodologies are evolving. In such a scenario, it is important to develop content using different technologies, including simulation and animation.” He congratulated the T-SAT Network’s team and its CEO R Shailesh Reddy for successfully developing a model which delivers educational content to students across the State.

KTR said that the Telangana Government decided to beam T-SAT through cable networks. Recalling T-SAT’s journey, he said that the reach of the network, which was originally called ‘Mana’ TV, was limited to a few places. However, the T-SAT Network reached 90 lakh homes. To catch up with the digital age, its app was also launched, and there were nearly 40 lakh registered users on T-SAT platforms, he added. KTR asked the T-SAT administration to expand the reach of T-SAT beyond Telangana and consider providing educational content to Telugu-speaking students worldwide.

The IT minister also suggested to the T-SAT team to incorporate simulation and technology to make education more engaging and effective. A social awareness campaign for children should be initiated, focusing on teaching them proper garbage disposal and the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, KTR said. He also advised the T-SAT team to introduce online mock tests for students who appear for various competitive exams.

Later, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Society for Telangana State Network and Osmania University, marking the launch of the university's TV channel. Also, KTR officially made the announcement of TSAT Network on ‘aha’ streaming service.

Principal Secretary of IT and Industries Department Jayesh Ranjan, Osmania University vice-chancellor Prof D Ravinder and others were present at the event.
