HYDERABAD: Congress Chennur MLA Dr. Gaddam Vivekanand on Thursday underwent rigorous interrogation by Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigators concerning a FEMA case lodged against him. The ED officials scrutinized transactions amounting to Rs 8 crore between the MLA's bank account and a vigilance security service.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized a significant amount of unaccounted cash, digital evidence, and potentially incriminating documents from G. Vivekananda after he quit BJP right before Telangana Elections.

The investigating agency carried out searches at four locations in Telangana, occurring mere days before the scheduled Telangana Assembly elections on November 21, 2023.

The searches were executed at multiple locations, including Dr. Gaddam Vivekanand's residences in Hyderabad, the office premises of Visaka Industries Ltd in Hyderabad, and Vigilance Security Services Pvt Ltd in Ramagundam. Searches were also conducted at his temporary residence in Hitech City, Mancherial.
