HYDERABAD: A minor tension prevailed for a while near the residence of TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, when the followers of senior Congress leader Kata Srinivas Goud tried to besiege the latter’s house for allotting Patancheru Assembly constituency to Neelam Madhu instead of Srinivas Goud.

Srinivas Goud followers alleged that Revanth Reddy sold tickets for crores of rupees. “For the last two decades, we have been campaigning with the Congress flag. But the Congress party has deceived us by allotting Patancheru Assembly constituency seat to Neelam Madhu who recently joined the party. MLA Jagga Reddy and Revanth Reddy have taken crores of rupees from Neelam Madhu,” said Kata Sudha, wife of Srinivas Goud.

Sudha said that she would disclose all the details of those who took the money after her husband returned from New Delhi. “The Congress high command called us to Delhi and assured us that the Patancheru ticket will be allotted to Srinivas Goud. However, they deceived us. We worked hard to strengthen the Congress from the grassroots level in the constituency even though we lost our property. Finally, the Congress has given a better gift for us,” she said.

With the situation going out of control, the police arrested the followers of Kata Srinivas Goud to restore normalcy in the place. Later, the police also enhanced the bandobast near Revanth Reddy’s residence.
