HYDERABAD: The Balanagar Special Operations Team (SOT) of the Cyberabad police, along with Medchal police, have arrested three people for allegedly smuggling hashish oil. The arrested individuals have been identified as Gollu Kumara Swamy, Kodi Ajay Kumar, and Lokavarapu Swamy Ganesh.

The police seized approximately 2.2 liters of hashish oil, a Pulsar motorbike, and three mobile phones from the accused. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be around Rs 12,30,000.

According to the police, Gollu Kumara Swamy, a mechanic from Andhra Pradesh who works in Hyderabad, hatched a plan to sell hashish oil to generate additional income. He contacted Nageswar Rao alias Nagu, a supplier from Tuni in Andhra Pradesh to acquire the illegal substance.

Swamy then allegedly persuaded his friend Ajay Kumar to travel to Tuni and pick up the hashish oil. Ajay Kumar, along with Lokavarapu Swamy Ganesh, reportedly traveled to Tuni on their Pulsar bike on March 29, 2024, and collected the contraband from Nagu.

The trio reportedly met Swamy in Hyderabad on the night of March 30 and proceeded towards Medchal. Police apprehended them near the Delicious Food Court during a routine vehicle check around 9:30 pm.

One of the arrested individuals, Kodi Ajay Kumar, reportedly had prior involvement in NDPS cases registered at Addateegala and Dawaleshwaram police stations in Andhra Pradesh.
