HYDERABAD: The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, central zone team, along with Bowenpally police, apprehended two persons near Ratnadeep Supermarket, Bapuji Nagar, Bowenpally, while the accused were trying to sell sharp-edged swords and daggers on Sunday.

Police later raided a godown of JC Crafts situated at Sowjanya Colony, Bowenpally, and seized big swords with three scabbards, a small dagger with a scabbard, and three imitation rifles from their possession.

According to the police , the accused were identified as Vinay Sharma Kolariya and his son Aakash Kolariya, both residents of Sowjanya Colony, and natives of Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Vinay was running a business in the name of JC Crafts. A few months ago, he hatched a plan to sell swords, daggers and imitation rifles considering the demand for such weapons in the upcoming marriage season and festivals.

He acquired them from Rajasthan under the garb of handicraft items and stored them in his shop. He employed his own son Aakash for the sale of these weapons in the twin cities. He used to sell each sword for Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000 depending on the customer.
