HYDERABAD: City Police Commissioner CV Anand along with the heads of traffic, law and order, and special branch carried out a route inspection from Balapur Ganesh Temple and several significant areas along the 19-km long route on Tuesday.

With the Ganesh idols procession and immersion inching close the meticulous final preparations of the City police force were completed to ensure the seamless execution of this grand event.

The inspection route from Balapur to Hussain Sagar covered Chandrayanagutta, Charminar, Nayapool, MJ Market, Telugu Talli Flyover, Secretariat, and People's Plaza.

CP Anand instructed the zonal DCPs to work in tandem, particularly at the convergence point near MJ Market. The responsibility of overseeing the movement of the procession at critical junctions and providing essential guidance to subordinates was entrusted to senior officers.

While inspecting the primary procession lanes near Charminar and Telugu Talli Flyover, CV Anand stressed the importance of clear signage to direct the vehicles carrying the idols according to their height specifications.

The Police Chief stressed the significance of a scientific evaluation of the route, which included verifying height restrictions, identifying and addressing low-lying wires, and pinpointing potential obstacles that could impede the procession.

The comprehensive inspection concluded at People's Plaza, where senior officers meticulously reviewed logistics and deployment plans for managing heavy crowds around Hussain Sagar.

Along with staff from city police, additional staff from other districts and allied branches will also be deployed, bringing the deployment of the force to of around 25,694 personnel and 125 platoons. A shift system of duties for all, including officers had been planned at 18 important junctions, like MJ market, Afzalgunj, Ambedkar statue and NTR Marg. In all three RAF companies and other paramilitary forces have reported. Five drone teams are being deployed. The main routes and tributary rates are fully covered by CCTVs and the repairs have been carried out.

Various roads in the city which are part of the procession will either remain closed for regular traffic or will see traffic diversions. Multiple Quick Response Teams, dog squads, and anti-chain snatching teams, SHE teams will also be deployed.

The joint command control centre manned by senior officers from all departments like GHMC, HMDA, Transco, waterworks, RTA, Medical and Health, etc will be fully operational from the early hours of September 28 at TSPICCC.

The City police appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement officials and follow safety guidelines to make this year's Ganesh idols procession and immersion a memorable and incident-free celebration.

Vikram Singh Mann, Addl.CP(L&O), Sudheer Babu, Addl.CP Traffic, Viswa Prasad, Addl.CP -SB and traffic, L&O DCPs also participated in the route inspection.
